Neiman Marcus has zeroed in on the southeast corner of Broadway Plaza, currently occupied by David M. Brian, Baby Gap, and Gap Kids, as the location for its Walnut Creek opening in 2011.
Lane Furniture (pictured below) has taken the place of Copeland’s Sports at 1330 S. California Boulevard in Walnut Creek. The independently owned store is part of a nationwide chain that also carries accessories for the home.
Powell’s Sweet Shoppe, which bills itself as an “old-time, old-fashioned” candy and ice cream store, is sweetening up the scene at the Lafayette Mercantile. In Danville, At the Candy Shop has opened at 301 Hartz Avenue.
Oakland Airport is busting out three new shops. Terminal Two has bragging rights to the country’s first Techshowcase for big-name electronic devices. Other new shops include luxury eyewear retailer Sunglass Icon and Under a Silver Moon, which carries gifts from the Oakland Zoo and Children’s Fairyland.
After only a few months in business, Hush has closed its Union Street location in San Francisco and launched an online store (www.myhush.com), featuring the same women’s clothing and accessories found at the store on North Main Street in Walnut Creek.
