Take Us Out to the Ball Game
The Oakland A’s are coming off their second straight postseason, and the 2014 team looks ready to make a serious run for another American League West title. There are six home games we just can’t wait to see.
4/1: Free Parking
No joke—April 1 is the first of 12 free parking Tuesdays. Spend that $25 on fine sausages, and get to the Coliseum early for some tailgating.
A reunion of players and coaches from the 1974 championship team takes place on-field, before the game against the Angels. The first 15,000 fans get ace pitcher Catfish Hunter bobbleheads.
6/22: Garden Gnome
The first 20,000 fans get a Coco Crisp garden gnome, which would be worth it even if there wasn’t a game that day. But there is, against the defending champion Red Sox.
The 25th anniversary of the Athletics’ 1989 championship team means another pregame reunion. This time, the first 15,000 fans get
a cool retro tee.
Star Wars fireworks. That is all.
Postseason starts. This is the year. Go A’s! The first seven games are at home, March 31–April 6. For information and to purchase tickets, visit athletics.com.
For tailgating, burger-loving fans should pick up an A’s Sportula from sportula.com.
