Being a Mom Can Be a Real Mother

Published:

Let’s face it.  Being a mama is a hard job. You don’t have set hours and often have to work late. Your boss is demanding, unreasonable and sometimes prefers to be pantless.  On the plus side, your job comes with a pretty sweet meal plan consisting of leftover macaroni and cheese.

And that’s just your unpaid internship at mamahood.

Fellow colleagues in the industry can attest that the job requirements don’t get any easier as you climb the chutes and ladders of your lifelong motherhood career, but your boss eventually learns the importance of pants and that your opinion isn’t literally the dumbest thing they’ve ever heard.  You receive a few promotions along the way, and eventually you may even watch your boss get ousted by their own boss as you’re elected to the Grandmadvisory Board.

Yep, the job of being a mama is a real mother, which is why this is the year Mother’s Day comes with a raise and benefits.  Make sure your co-worker, you know, the one who helped make your boss, gets the memo.

24k Savings Plan

The San Francisco Gift Center and Jewelry Mart has over 100 showrooms in one single location. It offers wholesale pricing and is now open to the public.  You can for reals shop or just make a day of window shopping. With that many options in one location, it’s like the vortex of Netflix recommendations. Before you know it, you’ve lost a whole day and you’re not sure how Sex and the City and Gettysburg Address relate, but somehow, you’ve watched them both.

Break Time

You’re in the mama union. By law you’re entitled to breaks and if you’re an employee to littles or middles, you deserve a day to yourself in your house. A clean house. A clean house that you didn’t clean. Just make sure your co-worker doesn’t plan a super fun day and you end up with FOMO (fear of missing out).  Maybe they make a day of getting caught up on vaccinations!

Vision and Earring Plan

When your job gets stressful, sometimes you just need to put on rose colored glasses. No, literally put on new rose colored sunglasses.  They totally complement any skin tone while also helping you overlook the unfolded laundry basket that has been sitting on your dining table for 2 days. Maybe 4. And while you’re at it, maybe pick up some rose gold earrings too.  The San Francisco Gift Center and Jewelry Mart has sunglasses, accessory, and jewelry showrooms, making it a one stop shop and one easy excuse for a day for you in the city.

We stand with you mama and we will not go gentle into that goodnight moon.  Being a mama is hard work, but it’s one of the best titles you’ll ever earn.
