Calling all East Bay style mavens: Buy yourself a BART ticket, and zip across the Bay to catch the runway shows at the third annual Fashion Week in San Francisco, August 23–27. Starting at 7 p.m. each evening at the Galleria at the San Francisco Design Center, you can get an inside peek at Spring 2007 collections from emerging and established designers.
A big perk is getting to check out what other fashionistas in the audience are wearing. And there’s a boutique to buy jewelry, handbags, and other accessories, as well as some ready-to-wear apparel.
The first night is a fundraiser for the National AIDS Memorial Grove and will feature two East Bay couture designers: Oakland’s Cari Borja and Berkeley’s Erin Mahoney.
Tickets range from $45 to $150 per evening. Visit www.fashionweek-sf.com for details.
