Organ music, painted wooden animals, the world spinning dizzily around—a wondrous carousel ride is among the fondest of childhood memories. Become a kid again—and take your own, too—at the 100th birthday celebration of Tilden Regional Park’s antique merry-go-round. Explore its history (including the 1978 restoration and being named to the National Register of Historic Places) in a photo exhibition, then enjoy birthday cake, hula hooping, face-painting, and, of course, rides.

August 13, 11 a.m.–6 p.m., Berkeley, free, (510) 524-6773, tildenmgr.com.
