Wax On, Wax Off

Add some Buffalo Milke shine!

When the San Francisco 49ers hit the field this season, you might notice a certain sparkle. That could be confidence. Or it could be the wax used to shine their helmets. Pleasanton’s Phil Mumler spent 20 years inventing an easy spray-on wax for cars, motorcycles, and hot rods, and launched Buffalo Milke in 1997. It was a smash on QVC and is now sold online and at auto shows, but word of mouth has spread in interesting directions—like to the NFL. “We loved watching the Super Bowl, even though the 49ers lost,” says CFO Helen Mumler. “The helmets were so shiny; it looked like there were little halos above all the players.” buffalomilke.com.
