Get Your Hoops On at The Ultimate Fieldhouse in Walnut Creek
The Ultimate Fieldhouse is the ultimate basketball complex.

If Steph Curry wants to practice his three-pointers over the summer, he should check out Walnut Creek’s The Ultimate Fieldhouse.
The new basketball emporium—with four regulation-size courts, a training court, a shot lab, and concession stands—opened late last year in the once dormant Shadelands business park. Fieldhouse offers drop-in basketball classes, along with camps and leagues—plus drop-in volleyball, Pickle-ball, and fitness classes for young and old.
Here are three ways to perfect your jump shot at Fieldhouse: For $5, drop in during open gym hours to shoot around. (Times are available on Fieldhouse’s website.) You can also rent one of five shooting machines for 15- and 30-minute intervals. The shooting machines rebound and pass the ball back to you, so you can take 500 shots in half an hour. Or take a skills class with a trainer, starting at $35 for an hour and 15 minute session.
Oh, and don’t forget to wear your Curry jersey for good luck. 2675 Mitchell Dr., Walnut Creek, (925) 322-8785, ultimatefieldhouse.com.
More to Come
With sports, shops, and a taproom, the formerly sleepy Shadelands business park will have something for everyone.
A host of sporty neighbors are expected to join Fieldhouse. They include: the American Swim Academy, the Copa Real Futbol Centre, Encore Gym, Mike Murphy Baseball, Sparta Taekwondo, Vibe Volleyball Club, and a sports-oriented restaurant.
This fall, the Safeway shopping center will open, and new shops and restaurants that include Mod Pizza will follow suit into early 2017. There will also be parking on the roof and a paved path for walkers, joggers, and bicyclists.
With a new Calicraft Brewing Co. taproom nearby, parents can quench their thirst while junior shoots hoops. Calicraft expects to get in on the sports vibe with outdoor bocce ball, planned for next spring.
