With temperatures rising and antsy kids at home for the summer, there’s no better place to cool off than at the newly renovated Larkey Pool and Splash Playground in Walnut Creek.

Skilled little fishes can swim the day away in the brand new pool—which offers a free swim area alongside lap swimming—and little ones can splash around in the animal-themed Splash Playground, a zero-depth play zone for kids of any age or swimming ability.

At the playground, kids enjoy running through water features and climbing on the play structure, while parents feel confident their tikes are in a safe environment. Plus, the playground is equipped with a closed-circuit recirculation system, which filters, disinfects, and redistributes the cleaned water to the playground. Not only will your family have fun, they’ll stay healthy—and help conserve water, too.

But the fun doesn’t stop there: Larkey Pool and Splash Playground is teaming up with Lindsay Wildlife Experience for a complete day of wet-and-wild fun. Check out the animal-themed decor (you’ll see some local critters around the pool) and stop by the museum after a day at the pool to meet new animal friends.

You just might see some of those friends around the park—Lindsay staff often give the birds of prey play time in the park, so be on the lookout for them. larkeysplash.org.
