The Mindful Art Gallery at Mangalam Center is having its grand opening on Saturday, October 12th, 2019, from 6p-9 p.m. “The Hidden Heart of Freedom” exhibit is a group show featuring artists whose work explores mindfulness through creative expression. This diverse show will feature a wide array of art - installations, video art, sculptures, paintings, and digital art. In addition, the show will offer a contemplation room where attendees can spend moments in peaceful reflection.
The exhibition will be on display from October 12th to November 9th.
The art chosen for the exhibit illuminates the artists’ experience and connection to mindfulness, or incites a mindful experience within the viewer.
Many of the featured artists will be present at the opening reception. There will also be a live musical debut performance by the band Twin Freaks.
The Mindful Art Gallery is a project of Mangalam Center, a research center for Buddhist studies. Mangalam Center offers workshops, meditation classes, speaker series’, film screenings and many community events that are free of charge.
