Lamorinda Arts Alliance Announces a Printmaking Exhibit!
Main Street Arts Gallery (613 Main Street, Martinez) will be showcasing the prints of Lamorinda Art Alliance artists from May 2nduntil June 2nd in an exhibit titled “Under Pressure"!!
A talented group of printmakers will be displaying their etchings, linocuts, woodblock prints and multi-media prints.
Participating artists include: Donna Arganbright, Karen Baden Thapa, Donna Brown, Marian Harris, Joanna Davenport, Danguole Kuolas Carol Levin Brent, Joanne Lieberman, Harry Liedstrand, Gail Morrison, Pat Prosek, Arline Reimann, Don Rooney, Stephen Schumm, Joani Share, and Hallie Strock.
Jan Cook, a local printmaker and member of the California Society of Printmakers juried the artwork for the exhibit. The featured print “Sonoma Cactus” by Marian Harris, is a hand pulled three-plate colored etching.
Please join the artists for a celebratory Cinco de Mayo reception on May 5th from 2-5 pm. Light refreshments will be served.
Main Street Arts Gallery is open 12-5 pm, Wednesday through Saturday; 10am-2pm on Sundays
Lamorinda Arts Alliance is an organization of local artists and friends who reside or work in the area. Its purpose is to provide coordination, education and service in order to promote and increase knowledge, appreciation and practice of the arts, and to enhance the cultural development of Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda and the surrounding communities.
The group seeks to foster a better understanding of art within the community and encourage the exchange of ideas for the mutual benefit of all members through its programs, exhibits and other activities within the community.
