Jazz it up at the Claremont

Rick Braun performs Friday night in the Concerts at The Claremont series.

Jazz lovers, check out the Claremont this Friday, as the Berkeley resort kicks off its Concerts at the Claremont series with a performance by Jazz trumpeter Rick Braun. Braun, who shot to prominence following his funk-infused 1996 Beat Street album, recently released a new CD entitled Yours Truly which draws on a diverse set of musical influences including rock and soul, funk, and love themes

Braun goes on at 8 p.m., but the Claremont offers a pre-concert dinner package, which includes a "dine-around" with fresh tossed salad, house-made soup, pastas, carved meats, and Flambe dessert station, for $114 per person. The Claremont also offers three-hour childcare service, including games, dinner, desert, a movie and a special entertainment, for up to two kids for $60.
