It's the end of summer (well, for school kids, that is), so head outdoors for Shrek at Emerald Glen Park, Oakland’s Eat Real Festival, Rivets at the Richmond shipyard, Sheryl Crow at Wente, and more. Here are your Top Tickets…

August 28: Shrek
Celebrate the end of summer with your school-bound kids at Dublin’s Family Movies Under the Stars, where Shrek will be projected on a 32-foot screen beginning at sunset.  Bring blankets and pack a snack, or enjoy refreshments available for purchase.  No pets allowed.  Emerald Glen Park, at Tassajara Road and Gleason Drive, Dublin, 7:30 p.m., free, (925) 556-4500, ci.dublin.ca.us.

August 28–30: Eat Real Festival
It’s all about delicious and sustainable food—as well as the farmers and chefs who make it—at Oakland’s Eat Real Festival. You’ll find street food, fresh produce, handcrafted beers, artisanal snacks, and nonstop entertainment such as chef demonstrations, dance performances, live music, and a butchery contest.  Jack London Square, at Broadway and Embarcadero, Oakland, free, (510) 336-6042, eatrealfest.com.

August 28–September 27: Rivets
Penned by Concord playwright Kathryn McCarty and composer Mitchell Covington and staged on the SS Red Oak Victory, Rivets is an educational and inspiring musical about Rosie the Riveter and the “homefront soldiers” of Bay Area shipyards.  WWII veterans and uniformed soldiers can attend free, and donations to Blue Star Moms earns $2 off admission.  Kaiser Shipyards, 1337 Canal Blvd., Richmond, $15–$20, (925) 676-5705, rivets.homestead.com.

Sheryl CrowAugust 30: Mai Tai Day

August 31: Sheryl Crow
Nine-time Grammy Award–winner Sheryl Crow brings her soulful blend of rock and country to Livermore.  Enjoy Wente wines and dinner before the show, then kick back to the sounds of your favorite songs—and hopefully some new ones—in this lovely outdoor venue.
