December 3–20: Scrooge
Town Hall Theatre brings Ebenezer Scrooge to the stage in a musical retelling of Charles Dickens’ classic tale, A Christmas Carol. It’s a show for the whole family, and on weekend matinees, enjoy live caroling in the lobby. (We're glad to hear Town Hall Theatre is now fully recovered after a devastating flood in April.) December 4–January 3: Zoo Lights
After the animals go to sleep, thousands of LED lights illuminate the Oakland Zoo, taking the shape of animals, candy canes, lollipops, and Santa Claus, while festive music fills the air. December 4–January 24: Aurelia’s Oratorio
Aurélia Thierrée grew up in the circus, and her “oratorio” is a dazzling display of illusion, dance, puppetry, and acrobatics set to a score of chamber music and gypsy jazz. December 5: Bah Humbug 5K
Get the upper hand on all those holiday sweets by running the Bah Humbug 5k. San Ramon’s annual race, open to all ages, features a costume contest (Most Grinch-Like, Best Group Theme, etc.) and complimentary ornaments for all participants. December 5–6: Holidays in the Vineyards

December 6: The Great Big Spectacular Chanukah Bookfair
Clayton Books and Lafayette’s Temple Isaiah team up for a sale of Chanukah books and gifts for kids and adults.
