February 13–16: Spring Home and Garden Show
It may still be cold, but spring is just around the corner. And that means it’s time to start thinking about sprucing up yards, delving into home projects, and well, spring cleaning. This huge vendor fair showcases the latest in landscaping, pools and spas, furniture, flooring, and fine art to inspire your design dreams. February 13–March 15: The Producers
Diablo Light Opera Company presents the East Bay premiere of The Producers. The musical—which started as a Mel Brooks movie about a Broadway musical, then became a Broadway musical, and then was made into another movie… whew—is the winningest production in Tony Awards history. February 14: Bill Cosby
The legendary comedian, actor, and author brings his razor-sharp wit and warm charm to Oakland on his North American comedy tour. Expect tales from the now-71-year-old’s childhood, hilarious insights on everyday moments, and lots of crowd interaction. February 14–May 17: Warhol Live
Experience Andy Warhol as Andy Warhol would: with music. The De Young Museum offers the first comprehensive exhibit of the pop art’s music-themed work, from portraits of pop stars to album cover designs to film recordings. On February 21, the museum hosts a Pop Party with cocktails and dancing to The Unauthorized Rolling Stones. February 18: Tango Fire
Livermore becomes Buenos Aires for an evening when Tango Fire’s young musicians, dancers, and singers heat up the Bankhead stage. The show traces the history of the sensual dance, from its red-light-district origins to contemporary ballroom flair.
