Elaine Taylor honored with Jefferson Award for public service

Taylor Family Foundation co-founder receives national award for public service

Newly inaugurated President Barack Obama has called on the American people to become more involved in public service. In the East Bay, Elaine Taylor stands as an example of public service to her community. The founder of the Taylor Family Foundation was just awarded the Jefferson Award for Public Service, a national recognition system honoring those who serve their community. Founded in 1991, the Taylor Family Foundation provides a place for children with chronic illness and mental disabilities to have a fun experience and find lasting friendships. Diablo also recognized Elaine Taylor for her charity work as a Threads of Hope Impact Award Finalist in 2004. Taylor’s Foundation and news of her Jefferson Award will air on January 21st, on Channel 5 KPIX TV at 6 PM and will be featured in the SF Chronicle’s Style section on Sunday January 25th.
