Fourth of July on the U.S.S. Hornet
Food, fun, and a terrific Rolling Stones cover band on this legendary battleship
Why settle for going to a plain old barbeque this Fourth of July when you can listen to live music, jump in a bounce house, ride a flight simulator, and explore a vital piece of American history?
From noon until 9:30 p.m. on America’s Independence Day, the USS Hornet museum, located in Alameda, will be providing all this and more.
Admission is $25 for adults ($22 in advance) and $12 for children, visitors can explore the legendary WWII aircraft carrier while taking in panorama views of the San Francisco Bay.
Tours of the USS Hornet’s flight decks, hangar bays, engine room, flight operations, captain’s bridge, sick bay, ready rooms, combat information center and torpedo shop will be taking place throughout the day. A bounce house, flight simulator, carnival games, and live music (including “The Unauthorized Rolling Stones,” a cover band of the famous group,) will also be provided. Beer, wine, and food will be available for purchase.
And of course, wrap up the day by watching fireworks at dusk from the flight deck!
The carrier is berthed at 707 W. Hornet Avenue, Pier 3 in Alameda. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.hornetevents.com or call (510) 521-8448x282.
