Danville's "Batting Stance Guy" on Letterman

Gar Ryness cracks up Late Show host and audience with his endless imitations of baseball batting stances.

Gar Ryness has translated what he calls "the least marketable skill in America" into a pretty good side job for himself. The Danville native has become a minor celebrity since the Youtube community discovered his talent for imitating the batting stances of nearly any major league baseball player in history—a familiar ritual for any baseball-loving kid but one the 36-year-old Ryness apparently never grew out of. In the last year, he has been featured in numerous media outlets, including the New York Times and ESPN, and last night Ryness cracked up David Letterman and his Late Show audience with his array of imitations, including ones of soon-to-be Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson and Manny Ramirez.
