Diablo Fit: New Gym Opens in Danville

San Ramon Valley Fitness preaches having fun while working out.

Looking to shake up that tired workout routine? Check out Danville's brand new San Ramon Valley Fitness gym, whose theory on working out is to love your body and feel fabulous—all while having fun!

Cori Lentz, founder and president of San Ramon Valley Fitness, which celebrated its Grand Opening last week, says that the less we make fitness about ‘working’ out and more about ‘playing’ out, the more we want to do it. That’s the idea behind the many of the quirky/fun classes San Ramon Valley Fitness offers. “In my own personal experience I’ve noticed that there is this rule of punishing yourself when you work out,” Lentz said. “You need to have fun! Enjoy yourself, then fitness will be a realistic part of your life.”

Even though Lentz likes to flip on the disco ball when she teaches, these classes aren’t all play. San Ramon Valley Fitness offers classes like The Sports Barre, a very targeted workout session that combines barre work, core conditioning, and orthopedic exercises to create chiseled arms, sculpted thighs and long, lean muscles (and don’t forget tightly lifted assets!) This class is a more athletic approach to the barre training that one would get in ballet.

There is also Zumba, which consists of following easy movements based on latin rhythms, not to mention a host of other off-beat classes, including Sizzle-licious Sculpting, Tribal Fusion Belly Dance, and Get Lit, an exercise class taught by candlelight. Who knows, by the end, you might not even realize you worked out at all!
