Now that the sun has officially arrived, get out and enjoy the summer at the county fair, outdoor concerts, fireworks festivities, and a sweet exhibit about the art of skateboarding. Here are your Top Tickets…
July 1–19: Alameda County Fair
Carnival rides, cotton candy, horse racing, art exhibits, free concerts, and loads of family fun—that’s what the annual Alameda County Fair is all about. Sure to be a hit this year is the Balloon Samba ride, which came from the late Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch. July 2: B-52s
Wente brings out the dance floor for one of the greatest party bands ever: the B-52s. Come early for dinner, then boogie the night away to “Love Shack” and “Rock Lobster.” (FYI: The “4 for the 4th” offer includes four mezzanine dining concert tickets, a bottle of wine, and reserved VIP parking for $399.) Art meets extreme sports in Bedford Gallery’s new exhibit Full Deck: A Short History of Skate Art. Explore the individual style and cutting-edge graphics of skateboards, paintings, stickers, magazines, and clothing from the skater community.
