Booksigning Dinner with "Biodeva" Tuesday Night
Diablo "Woman to Watch" Novella Carpenter celebrates the release of her new book on urban farming with dinner at Berkeley's Eccolo.
Novella Carpenter, one of Diablo’s 2009 Women to Watch, introduces her book Farm City: The Education of an Urban Farmer (which recently received a glowing review by the New York Times) at Eccolo, on Tuesday, June 16th. To celebrate the event, Eccolo is hosting a dinner featuring meat, veggies, and eggs from Bay Area farms.
Carpenter has worked closely with Eccolo Chef Christopher Lee in learning how to make cured meats at the Berkeley restaurant, which is mentioned in her new book—and her crowning achievement, the prosciutto, will be a part of the dinner menu. Carpenter will be there to sign books and talk with guests about urban farming, beekeeping, and biodiesel (CLICK HERE to read how Carpenter helped start a biodiesel gas station in Berkeley, along with four other "Biodevas"). There is limited seating, so call or visit Eccolo’s website to reserve a table.
Eccolo, 1820 Fourth St., Berkeley, (510) 644-0444, eccolo.com.
