Mother’s Day is this Sunday. Treat yours to a memorable date—perhaps a ballet or a flower stroll or a visit to one of 13 Bay Area museums offering free admission.  Here are this week’s Top Tickets…

May 6: 1st Wednesday Street Party
Downtown Pleasanton kicks off its annual series of themed summer street parties with a Cinco de Mayo Celebration. Latin rock and soul band La Ventana sets the mood while guests stroll Main Street, visiting vendor booths, perusing downtown businesses, and sipping refreshments from the beer and wine garden. Street parties return every first Wednesday through September. Main Street, Pleasanton, 6–9p.m., free, (925) 484-2199, pleasantondowntown.net.

May 8–9: The Little Prince
“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” That is the message of the beloved 1943 French children’s book, The Little Prince, and the dance adaptation Diablo Ballet presents for its season finale. The story of a prince from outer space comes to life on stage with 30 dancers and choreography by former San Francisco Ballet principal ballerina Julia Adam. Lesher Center for the Arts, 1601 Civic Dr., Walnut Creek, price, (925) 943-7469, tickets: lesherartscenter.org, more info: diabloballet.org.

May 9: Flower Stroll
At the third annual Flower Stroll, businesses throughout downtown Walnut Creek offer flowers to visitors. By the end of the afternoon, you’ll have a beautiful spring bouquet. Begin at City Hall to pick up a map, a bag to hold flowers, and coupons. Proceeds benefit the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. City Hall, 1666 N. Main St., Walnut Creek, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., $5 donation, (925) 933-6778, walnutcreekdowntown.com.

May 10: Free Museum Day
Looking for something to do on Mother’s Day? Thanks to the Koret Foundation—which is celebrating its 30th anniversary—13 Bay Area museums are offering FREE admission this Sunday, including East Bay faves Chabot Space & Science Center, Oakland Museum, Judah L. Magnes Museum, and Lawrence Hall of Science. For a complete list of participating museums, visit koretfoundation.org.

May 11–June 14: The Wedding Singer
You won’t see Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, but awesome ‘80s nostalgia will be in full effect at Willows Theatre’s production of The Wedding Singer. You won’t want to miss the Broadway adaptation of the hit film about a wedding singer who longs for his own happy ending. Willows Theatre, 1975 Diamond Blvd., Concord, $30–$40, (925) 798-1300, willowstheatre.org.
