The Spoken World comes to Berkeley Repertory Theatre
If you're looking for something to do tonight, check out The Spoken World, a performance by spoken word artist Marc Bamuthi Joseph, playing at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre tonight at 7 p.m.
His act combines spoken word with tap, modern, and West African dance. The Berkeley Rep performance will specifically feature excerpts from his Word Becomes Flesh, Scourge, and the break/s, in addition to brand new pieces.
Marc Bamuthi Joseph has been named one of the top Young Innovators in the Arts and Sciences by the Smithsonian Magazine, won a GOLDIE award, and was recognized as one of the 50 “greatest living artists” in the country upon receiving the United States Artists Rockefeller Fellowship. He has performed in the past in Broadway, including performances such as The Tap Dance Kid and Stand-Up Tradegy.
