VP debate viewing parties in the East Bay
People all across the country are gathering together to watch Joe Biden and Sarah Palin address the issues in what is being considered to be one of the most anticipated Vice Presidential debates of all time. Contra Costa and Alameda counties are no exception, as the East Bay is playing host to a number of “viewing parties” from Berkeley to Livermore, most in private homes opening up their doors for democracy.
To find viewing parties that are Pro Obama/Biden, go to:
www.my.barackobama.com and click on the “events” section on the right hand side. You will be prompted to enter your zipcode.
To find viewing parties that are Pro McCain/Palin, go to:
www.johnmccain.com and click “find an event” on the right hand side. You will be prompted to enter your zipcode
If you want to go to the rowdiest debate party in the East Bay, both the Parkway Speakeasy in Oakland and the Cerrito Speakeasy in El Cerrito are showing the debates for free, first come first serve, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. If you've never been to these pizza-pub cinemas, they are an absolute blast. But if you're a McCain supporter, tonight might not be the best night to go.
Good luck to both candidates!
