Oakland Art Month, May 1-31, 2018
Presented by Visit Oakland
Oakland has long been home to innovators, creatives, and artists that collectively form the soul of The Town. Oakland Art Month is dedicated to promote events, performances, and shows that highlight the diversity of artists and work created in Oakland.
One of the most anticipated events of Oakland Art Month is the inaugural Oakland Mural Festival. From May 12-19, murals will be simultaneously painted throughout the Jack London Square neighborhood, with a closing party on May 19th.
Blurry Vision, a two-day hip-hop and R&B music festival running May 12 & 13, is also one of Art Month's main attractions. Headliners include SZA, Migos and Oakland’s own Kamaiyah.
Other featured events include First Fridays "Women in Art", TURFinc Cinco de Mayo Festival, Fiesta Sin Frontieras, Oakland Symphony's "The Artist Struggle", Jack London Art & Wine Festival, Malcolm X Jazz Festival, Bandaloop Open Rehearsals, and East Bay Open Studios Opening Celebration.
