Celebrate Lafayette's Namesake with Wines of France Dinner this Friday

2nd Annual event to take place at The Duck Club Restaurant in Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa.

Even if you’ve never given the origin of your city’s name a second thought, The Duck Club Restaurant in Lafayette Park Hotel and Spa thinks it warrants a second annual celebration. Their “Wines of France” dinner on Friday, Sept 18th celebrates the birthday of Marquis de Lafayette, a French military officer who would be turning a respectable 259 years old if having a city named after you guaranteed immortality. The four-course dinner features French cuisine with a California influence, which is a fitting tribute for a California city with a little French influence. The food will be paired with wine from the regions of Champagne, the Loire Valley, Burgundy and Bordeaux, so you can travel France’s wine region without moving a muscle. If you’re feeling more active you can dance under the stars in the Fountain Courtyard of the hotel, accompanied by the tunes of Generations in Jazz.

The wine reception with hors d’oeuvres begins at 6:30 p.m., and dinner begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $99. For more information, call (925) 283-7108.
