An Oceanfront Anniversary

Celebrate spring and the 10th anniversary of the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay April 1-3.

Now that it finally feels like spring (last week was a bit of a disappointment), it's time to take advantage of the beautiful weather and hit the coast. This weekend, April 1 through 3 is a good time to venture to Half Moon Bay, as the oceanfront Ritz-Carlton is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a celebratory brunch, champagne-infused spa packages, and a chance to drive Hwy 1 in a Tesla Roadster electric sports car.

Named "Best Weekend Brunch" by San Francisco magazine, the Ritz's restaurant Navio will go all out Sunday April 3 with an "Inside the Kitchen" style event, where Chef de Cusine Richard Gras will prepare small plates of risotto, sauteed foie gras, and sea scallops for all to sea, Photo courtesy of Justin Lewiscomplemented by a raw bar of oysters, clams, and poached lobster tails. Pastry Chef Otto Sanchez will lure your sweet tooth with mini desserts, ice cream and sorbet, as well as a chocolate-themed table, and representatives from Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial will be pouring flights of champagne in the hotels' wine tasting room for those who'd like to make a toast—perhaps for a wedding anniversary?

And the champagne doesn't stop there; it's also the focus of an anniversary package at the Ritz-Carlton spa that includes a glass upon check-in, a 50-minute champagne-scented massage, and an in-room bath (available for couples or individuals). When Club Level guests have had enough pampering, they're invited to sign up to test drive a Tesla Motors' Roadster, the world's first electric sports car, through downtown, passed the area's many farm stands, into the redwoods, and along the scenic Pacific Coast Highway, without using a drop of gasoline.

Offering gourmet food, windblown adventure, not to mention luxury accommodations, terrace fire pits, and a renowned golf course, The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay seems to have all the ingredients for a memorable spring weekend.
