A Short Hop to Mammoth Mountain
Daily, nonstop flights to go from San Jose to Mammoth this winter.
Mammoth Mountain is about to get a lot closer to East Bay skiers.
Starting December 17, Horizon Air will provide daily, nonstop flights to Mammoth from San Jose. The flights will take only 45 minutes and will land 15 minutes from the Mammoth Mountain resort. The ski-season flights will continue until April 11.
“Bay Area skiers now have another big mountain to ski in California with easy access,” says Mammoth spokesperson Joani Lynch. “The flights bring one of the country’s best ski resorts within striking distance for a weekend vacation.”
Mammoth used to be all but unreachable to travelers coming from Northern California in winter. A several-hour drive or flight via Los Angeles was the only way to reach the resort, which is east of Yosemite National Park.
The flights will start at $69.
