What's in Store: Spring Into Summer

A fashionable fundraiser in Pleasant Hill; a blow dry bar opens in Lafayette; Danville's Twenty One Tango reopens; Topshop arrives at Broadway Plaza; and more!

Things are heating up in the Bay Area! There are tons of cool new stores and hot happenings to check out while you enjoy the sunshine.

Making Waves

Don’t miss an opportunity to see the amazing artwork of Tabitha Soren’s Panic Beach collection, which explores the tumultuousness of human experience. Soren may have at one time been best known for her role on MTV's "Choose or Lose," but recently, Soren has been making a name for herself in the world of photography. Her new collection is a home furnishing and apparel collaboration with Berkeley designer Erica Tanov, and opens on Thursday, May 28. Head to Tanov's Fourth Street boutique to view this unique fashion and art collision. Admission is free, Thursday, May 28, 6-8 p.m., 1827 Fourth Street, Berkeley, tabithasoren.com

Open DoorsI Do Dry Style, Lafayette | Julie Winspear

I Do Dry Style and Lounge is now open on Mount Diablo Boulevard in downtown Lafayette. Whether you're attending a beautiful wedding or a senior ball, the friendly staff will make sure you look your best with an elegant hairdo (and never a hair-don’t). Want some downtime before the big event? Reserve the private lounge. 3587 Mt. Diablo Blvd, Lafayette, (925) 299-0087, idodrystyle.com.

Now under new ownership, the clothing boutique Twenty One Tango just hosted its grand reopening in Danville. In this charming store, you’ll have no trouble finding a cute new accessory or a fresh sundress to spruce up your wardrobe—and with new arrivals every three weeks, there’s always something to love. 391 Hartz Ave. Danville, (925) 837-2721, twentyonetango.com.

Topshop at Broadway Plaza | Julie WinspearTopshop (Finally!)

We’ve hoped for it. We’ve longed for it. We’ve waited for it. But now, it’s finally here! Topshop is now in Nordstrom in Broadway Plaza, giving stylish East Bay folks a little British flair. I personally have my eye on a to-die-for summer blazer, but between the delicately detailed tops and the sexy summer sandals, there’s bound to be something for everyone. Yes, everyone: Topmen is at Nordstrom, too; so don’t feel left out, gentlemen. 1200 Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek, (925) 930-7959, shop.nordstrom.com.

Shop Local

There’s no better way to look great while showing East Bay pride than by sporting the NSEWest Co., presented by Oaklandish. The brand is dedicated to spreading local love: All its merchandise is designed and printed in a California warehouse, including the Golden State collection, which is chock-full of graphic tees that celebrate life in the Bay Area. Now throughout the month of May, 10 percent of all proceeds will benefit the Lindsay Wildlife Experience. So get ready to show your love. 1444 Broadway, Oakland, (510) 251-9500, nsewestco.com

Coming Soon

Construction is currently underway on Infinity Hair Salon on Mount Diablo Boulevard in Walnut Creek. The salon is relocating from Lafayette and is shooting for an early June opening. Stay tuned! 2073 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Walnut Creek.

Closing Time

It’s a sad day for any Lafayette resident who enjoys skiing, skating, or snowboarding: Milosport is closing its doors with the intent of relocating to Auburn near Lake Tahoe, the owner tells us. But don’t mourn the loss just yet: The store won't close until June, so there’s time to make a few more purchases before we have to say good-bye. 3566 Mt Diablo Blvd, Lafayette, (925) 962-7669, milolafayette.com.
