Danville Children’s Guild is holding their annual luncheon and fashion show fundraiser Monday, November 18. Join them and emcee Jessica Aguirre, from NBC-11, at Diablo Country Club for lunch, a silent auction, a high-end boutique faire, and, of course, a fashion show. Tickets are still available here.

Berkeley’s Stella Carakasi is hosting a food and toy drive for the holidays. Through the third week of December, receive 10 percent off any purchase when you donate to the drive. While you’re there, check out items such as this flowing olive top—perfect for the season.

With so many shopping events on Thursday, it may be hard to choose which ones to go to. Here’s our list:

  • In Walnut Creek, Ladies night is calling with Ali Krebs of Posh Mommy Jewelery will be at Spitz Jewelers. Come in for jewelry, specifically monogrammed and initialed pieces in a variety of metals and finishes, as well as chocolate, champagne, wine, cheese, and prizes.
  • Next, Lafayette Fashionista is having a ribbon cutting ceremony. See the new shop and enjoy wine and appetizers, hosted by nearby store neighbor Glamorous Boutique. Both are located on Brown Avenue, an unassuming little strip right off of the downtown Lafayette area.
  • In Danville, the holidays kick off with the Spirit of Danville. For just $5, you can enjoy free trolley rides, live music, dining specials, and my favorite, holiday shopping deals from 17 different shops.
  • Finally, in Orinda, fun is an artisan faire at Orinda Country Club.  Find everything from children’s clothing (from Lafayette company Good Boy Friday), jewelry, ceramics, paintings, and photography. Score some unique, creative gifts for the holidays, as well as complimentary wine tasting.

And on Saturday, if you feel like going on a mini weekend adventure, American Girl opens a retail store in Palo Alto. My childhood is calling! Amenities include a bistro, design your own t-shirts, a doll hair salon, and shops filled with dolls and American Girl series books. Birthday parties can also be booked here.
