If vintage items pull at your heart strings, stop by the Alameda Point Vintage Fashion Faire Friday, October 18, from 6-9 p.m., and Saturday, October 19, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Explore items in more than 50 booths, including merch from Rock Wall Wine Company, vintage clothing, accessories, jewelry, and textiles from every era—plus Halloween costumes and vintage Halloween décor.

in Lafayette has been busy lately. Now through Halloween, log onto Facebook and participate in the store’s liquid-metal bracelet contest for a chance to win a Sergio Gutierrez stunner. Simply like, comment, or share the picture! If you don’t win, not to worry: the bracelets will be available in-store in the near future. Side note: The Lafayette boutique is now also offering a menswear line, too.

Openings

Nordstrom strikes again! In addition to the new Sunvalley Mall location, Dublin will be gaining a Nordstrom Rack near Hacienda Drive and Dublin Boulevard, an area that is undergoing other updates as well (see more information here). Shoppers will have to wait until fall 2015 to enjoy this 35,000 square foot space, however.

Are you an East Bay craft enthusiast? Then, get excited: Hobby Lobby is officially coming to Concord next March. Look for it on Willow Pass Road.

Courtesy of W AcademyKiki Brows in Blackhawk Plaza is now open. Pop in for threading (a great alternative for those who hate waxing), henna tattoos, and more. The official ribbon-cutting ceremony is also Tuesday, Oct 22, at noon, featuring the Danville Chamber of Commerce.

The W Academy, a new beauty school in Danville, is now open. This is no ordinary beauty school: Students will learn hair, makeup, and skincare skills, but also will earn a business degree. For stellar deals, book your beauty errands with them—a manicure is 8 bucks, and hair services will be a steal.
