Calling all kids and dudes: This blog's for you.
Openings: Whimsy, a high-end kid’s shop in Lafayette, opened in mid-September. It offers charming clothes and toys for children. Check it out! 3643 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette.
A third Uniqlo location is coming to the East Bay--this time in Walnut Creek. Doors open tomorrow, October 24, at 10 a.m., and the first 200 customers will receive a free, limited-edition tote bag on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. Stop by to check out the shop's casual clothing for men and women, and be greeted by Japanese Taiko drum players. Also this weekend, customers can take home a free Heattech item with purchases of $50 or more. Plaza Escuela Shopping Center, Locust Street and Olympic Boulevard, Walnut Creek.
In other news, Heather Farm Park now offers the first all-abilities playground in Walnut Creek. The 30,000 square-foot vibrant play-space has a shock-absorbent surface, and is specially designed for children with mobility challenges. Other features include swings, a grassy climbing hill, and a sand lot, plus plenty of shade to protect the kiddos from the heat and sun. Stop by October 25 for the playground’s unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. 301 N. San Carlos Drive, Walnut Creek.
Update: In my last What’s in Store blog, I mentioned 18/8, the men’s salon coming to La Fiesta Square in Lafayette. And, as promised, they have opening date on the calendar: Monday, October 27. Come enjoy complementary beverages—ice-cold beer, wine, soda, coffee, and more—with the purchase of any grooming service. Doors open at 9 a.m.
But wait, there’s more! Owners Kara Davidson and Samer Alami, the husband and wife team behind this 18/8 location, have graciously offered all Diablo readers who visit the salon on opening day half-off any grooming service with the mention of this blog post! So don’t forget to tell them you heard it here first! 15 Feista Ln., Lafayette.
