Disney's Freaky Friday
6/28–6/30 Catch the final performances of Center Repertory Company’s Freaky Friday at Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. Director Jeff Collister and Choreographer Jennifer Perry give the classic book and Disney film a novel spin. lesherartscenter.org.
Marin County Fair
6/30–7/4 A good county fair means summer has officially arrived. This one is packed with entertainment for the whole family, featuring concerts, carnival rides, film festivals, farm animals, and various exhibits. marinfair.org.
4th of July Fireworks
7/4 Red, white, and BOOM. The City of Livermore hosts its annual 4th of July fireworks show downtown on Railroad Avenue. Streets close at 4 p.m., and fireworks begin around 9:20 p.m. livermoredowntown.com.
Plug ‘n’ Play at the Oakland Museum of California
Through 8/10 Rotating guest DJs perform live sets at the museum’s Respect: Hip-Hop Style and Wisdom during Friday Nights @ OMCA. Enjoy old and new beats, and if you’re feeling inspired, mix your own tunes in the exhibition’s Sound Lab. museumca.org.
Through 8/13 Let kids run wild at the Oakland Zoo’s weeklong ZooArt camps. Kiddos spend the week creating various arts and crafts projects while learning about animals. oaklandzoo.org.
