Distinguished Speaker Series Presents: Jason Turbow
If you’re a baseball fan, head to the Lafayette Library to listen to sports author Jason Turbow and journalist Glenn Schwarz. You’ll spend the evening learning about the history of the Oakland A’s and Turbow’s new book: Dynastic, Bombastic, Fantastic Reggie, Rollie, Catfish and Charlie Finley’s Swingin’ A’s. lllcf.org.



Celebrating Elephants Day
The Oakland Zoo is celebrating its 21st anniversary with a special elephant awareness day. The event features a rare, close-up look at the zoo’s pachyderms, a circus, live music, a mock research camp, and more. All proceeds benefit elephant conservation efforts. oaklandzoo.org.




Carnaval San Francisco

Bay Area Kid Fest

Alice in Wonderland Ballet
Spend the evening following the classic story of Alice in Wonderland at Walnut Creek’s Lesher Center for the Arts. Featuring professional and student dancers from Contra Costa Ballet and an original score by Bay Area composer Daniel Berkman, the show is sure to delight. lesherartscenter.org.
