PigPen Theatre Co.’s The Tale of Despereaux: A New Musical
11/21 Berkeley Repertory Theatre offers a show for the whole family with a musical stage retelling of the Newbery Medal-winning novel by Kate DiCamillo. The play tells the story of a mouse who aspires to be a knight, and learns that even though he is small, he can change the world. berkeleyrep.org.
Annual Tree Lighting
11/22 Oakland’s Jack London Square comes alight—literally—during the waterfront’s lighting ceremony for a 50-foot Christmas fir. The event, which is expected to draw more than 2,500 people, will also include live entertainment, pop-up shops, and an artisan market. jacklondonsquare.com.
The Christmas Ballet
