Richmond Art Center Celebrates 75 years
The art center concludes a year of celebrations with a BBQ fundraiser and a new retrospective exhibition.

At the close of its year-long 75th anniversary celebration, the Richmond Art Center is holding a reunion celebration, new exhibit opening, and fundraiser BBQ this Saturday. The RAC Remembers in September will see the new exhibit, Beyond Tradition: Art Legacies at the Richmond Art Center Part II open, and will feature open studios, activities for children, and the recording of oral histories of RAC contributors. Beyond Tradition showcases artwork from RAC contributors since its advent in 1936 as part of the Works Progress Administration. Beyond Tradition: Part II features the work of artists in the center’s history from the 1980’s until the present. Following the exhibition opening, a barbecue benefiting the center and an artist reception will take place. All those associated with the RAC throughout its 75 years as well as the public are invited to attend.
