Books, Etc. with Lynn Carey: Rooftops of Tehran

I’ve found a book that book clubs everywhere should pick for their next selection.  It’s Rooftops of Tehran by San Ramon author Mahbod Seraji (who’s reading at Bay Books in San Ramon on Tuesday, June 9, at 7 p.m.)

I bet book clubs will think they shouldn’t choose it, because they’ll think they’ve already read so many books that are similar. I’ll admit that when I first received it, I thought, “Hmmmm, another book that takes place in the Middle East.” And I’m not the only one … two friends said the same thing. Later I realized how silly that is. It’s like saying, no, I’ve already read too many books that take place in the United States. Or England.
