Clint Eastwood's tough Bay Area police inspector is the focus of our free May movie in Orinda

So you're tired of the loud, stupid sequels that litter the multiplexes and you want to see an old school classic on the big screen?

We're about to make your day. You should feel lucky, punk.

This month's free movie in our monthly Classic Movie Series is the 1971 cop classic, Dirty Harry, starring East Bay-raised Clint Eastwood as San Francisco police inspector Harry Callahan. Directed by Don Siegel (Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Escape From Alcatraz), Dirty Harry was a huge hit during its 1971 release due to its nail-biting tension (the story is loosely based on the real life Zodiac case), bloody violence, and superstar tough guy performance by Eastwood.

Join us on Thursday, May 14 at 7 p.m. at the Orinda Theatre for a free screening of this Bay Area movie classic. As always, seating is first come, first served, so make sure to arrive early to find parking and reserve the best available seats. (Hey, have dinner at Orinda Theatre Square while you're there!) As always, our friends at Republic of Cake will bake a dozen Dirty Harry-themed cupcakes to give away for prizes in our trivia contest before the film starts.

See you at the movies!
