Classic Hollywood musical screens at the beautiful Orinda Theatre on December 10

Our final free movie in 2015 is one of my favorite holiday films from Hollywood's Golden Age: White Christmas.

Released in 1954, this musical comedy was the biggest hit of that year, and it's no wonder. The film has huge stars—Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, paired beautifully with Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen, and it is absolutely packed with beautiful Irving Berlin songs. It's a funny, sweet, sentimental, patriotic film, the epitome of the "they don't make 'em like that anymore" movie.

On a personal note, I love this movie because it was my dear grandmother's favorite film, and we watched it as a family every December when she was with us. I still think of her laughter and smiles as this joyful film plays each year around Christmastime.

I'm thrilled to be able to present White Christmas on the big screen in the beautiful Orinda Theatre this year on December 10. The free screening starts at 7 p.m. and we are sure to have a big crowd, so arrive early to find parking and best available seats. As always, our friends from Republic of Cake will provide special White Christmas cupcakes to give away as trivia prizes before te show.

See you at the movies!
