Days before start of production, Sony halts production on Steven Soderberg's adaptation of "Moneyball"

Hollywood's trade publications are reporting that Sony studios has pulled the plug on director Steven Soderbergh's adaptation of Berkeley writer Michael Lewis's book Moneyball, starring Brad Pitt as Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane. The film production was supposed to start rolling this week.
