This may be the shortest nightlife in existence, but rather than give you nothing at all or bore you with my explanation why, here are a few quick hits of news you need to know and a weekend wine event and memorial for a local bar.
As Ethan mentions in Diablo Dish, looks like plans for Residual Sugar’s expansion are finally somewhat confirmed. Jim Telford will be taking over the space next door (formerly known as Bake, even earlier known as Walnut Creek Baking Company). Check out the details in Dish.
Also courtesy of Ethan, Pican is celebrating right alongside the Warriors by offering a specialty cocktail. Called “54 at the Garden,” after Curry’s 54-point game at New York’s Madison Square Garden, you can nab the recipe over on this week’s Dish.
Tomorrow, stop by Rockwall Wines for its Urban Sip event. You’ll have a chance to sample more than 30 wines and bites from local chefs. Tickets are currently sold out, but it couldn’t hurt calling for any last minute cancellations or pleading on Craigslist. Saturday, April 27, 1–4 p.m., 2301 Monarch St., Ste. 300, Alameda, (510) 522-5700, rockwallwines.com.
Fans of the Loaded Hog, Pleasant Hill's neighborhood biker bar, have one last chance to say goodbye. This Saturday, the staff is holding a memorial party, including a dunk tank, bikini bike wash, and DJs and live bands. Word on the street is that the bar is scoping out a new location nearby, so it won't stay dead for long. Saturday, April 27, 8 a.m.–2 a.m., Dome Theater parking lot, Pleasant Hill, facebook page.
