We Love the Nightlife: November 15–20

Sierra Nevada takes over Danville; 1515 celebrates five years; brew your own beer in Oakland; and more nightlife happenings.

Vanberg and DeWulf beers

This week, I'm keeping it short and sweet, mainly because I'm busy, partially because I want to see all of you at Pete's tonight while I work on getting on the wall. I'll be back with a special early edition of We Love the Nightlife, in time for those pre-Thanksgiving parties, so come poking around here next Wednesday for more nightlife news and events.

TONIGHT:
Since we’re running out of time, I’m not going to waste any. Here’s what you should do tonight:

Sierra Nevada Tap Takeover at Pete’s: To celebrate Sierra Nevada’s 32nd anniversary, Pete’s Brassrail and Carwash is devoting all of its 20 taps to the Chico brewery’s beers. You’ll have the opportunity to sample brews never tasted outside of the taproom. petesbrassrail.com.

Coast to Coast Toast at ØL: Celebrate the founding of Belgian beer importer Vanberg and DeWulf by toasting one of its beers. For its 31st birthday, ØL will have Dupont Avec Les Bons Veoux, Dupont Moinette Brune, and Ölvisholt Lava on tap, and a Saison taster flight from Dupont, including the importer’s end of year offering, Avec Les Bons Voeux. event website.

Happy anniversary! 1515 Restaurant is celebrating its fifth by gifting patrons with all-day happy hour, today through Sunday. You shouldn’t have…

Oakland Beer Explosion!
Thank goodness for Ethan, who is discoverer of all things new and beer-related. In this week’s edition of thanking him for tips, he brings news of a new brewpub coming to Uptown Oakland. The Diving Dog will feature 30 taps for American craft beer, its own brews, and the opportunity to craft your own suds. That’s right, the Diving Dog will provide the recipe, ingredients, and instructions, and in two weeks time, you’ll have the opportunity to bottle and label your own beer. Pretty sweet, right? Look for an early February opening at 1802 Telegraph, across from the Fox. To learn more, head over to Dish.

Also, Ethan has an update on Tribute Tavern, the upcoming bar and bites project from Chris Pastena, the man Chop Bar. Looks like he’s shooting for a March opening for the tavern.

Over on Grubstreet, there’s news of Parliament, also expected to land in Oakland, Old Oakland to be exact. Sounds like it will be a café by day, bar by night. Grubstreet speculates an early 2013 opening at 811 Washington.
