Aesthetic: Hand-crafted, feminine, thoughtful, and a little bit whimsical.
Card tip: Send New Year’s cards with a big photo and a short update. “I like sending a New Year’s card because it’s neutral when you have friends and family with a variety of religious beliefs.”
On designing stationery: “I love that stationery is involved in some of the most meaningful moments of your life. It makes each piece a bit more special.”
Kaydi Bishop
An interior designer, this Hercules resident helped design notable luxury hotels as well as royal residences, before returning to her love of Photoshop and graphic design.
Aesthetic: Innovative yet sophisticated.
Card tip: Don’t get too complicated. “Last year, I felt the need to send out a multilayer, twine-packaged, foil-stamped card. This year, I have vowed to keep it simple.”
On receiving cards: “One of my favorite cards came from a friend who had been on the wedding circuit. He found a random photo of himself dancing with a girl he didn’t know. The card read: Merry Christmas, Love Ross and ???”
