Is this your year to go native? Head over to Tilden Regional Park on April 19, when its Botanic Garden, renowned for a fine collection of indigenous California plants, holds its annual plant sale.

You can enjoy refreshments, free docent-guided tours (meet at 2 p.m. near the visitors center), and spring blooms—watch for rhododendron, ninebark, summer holly, irises, monkeyflowers, and cacti.

Don’t forget to bring along cardboard boxes to carry home your purchases.
