You’ll soon have five new reasons to don a terry cloth robe and luxuriate: Two new spas have opened, one has expanded, another is being remodeled, and a 17,500-square-foot Burke Williams spa will open in Danville’s Rose Garden center in September. Here’s a rundown on what’s new in pampering.

Don’t let the storefront fool you—Lavande Boutique and Spa houses nine rooms with every kind of treatment imaginable, including a sage mint body scrub, a hot-stone massage, a facial, reflexology, and microdermabrasion. After your treatment, veg out in the sauna, steam room, or coed Jacuzzi. The spa also boasts a dozen manicure stations, a brow bar, and a mineral makeup station. Lavande has a primo location in the new Lafayette Mercantile and has ample parking—that’s a stress-buster right there. 3589 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, (925) 299-8877, www.lavandespa.com.

A longtime favorite in Walnut Creek, Changes Salon and Day Spa just got bigger and better. Now you can lounge in the spacious, naturally lit aquaterra room, which features a 16-foot wall of cascading water. Or, relax outdoors in a private enclosed courtyard due to open in late spring. Already in place is the new steam room, where you can slather on a custom-designed scrub that softens skin and gets you in the relaxation zone before a facial, massage, or body wrap. The expanded spa has great potential as a party venue. 1475 N. Broadway, Walnut Creek, (925) 947-1814, www.changessalon.com.

If there were a queen of Livermore, she’d get her pedicures at the new Salon Tivoli. Nestled among pillows on a canopied couch, she’d soak her feet in a hammered metal basin filled with milk and rose-petal water. The queen, or you, would feast on mimosas, fruit, and cheese during a stress-relieving foot massage. The royal treatment continues with the signature facial—75 minutes of soothing organic masks, scrubs, and moisturizers, as well as a neck-and-shoulders massage. 2219 First St., Livermore, (925) 456-3000, www.salontivoli.com.

The Pleasanton Spa is under new ownership, and the 10 treatment rooms are being remodeled. The spa will offer extended packages lasting from two to four hours in addition to a full menu of facials, manicures, massages, and waxes. 6155 Stoneridge Dr., Ste. 150, Pleasanton, (925) 463-1572, www.pleasantonspa.com.
