Can’t make it to downtown Pleasanton for Mahalo Grille’s popular wontons? Try the freezer section at Whole Foods instead.

The eatery’s Tropical Fusion Won Tons are filled with cream cheese, fresh veggies, and a mild kick of jalapeño. Think of them as gourmet jalapeño poppers, with an Asian makeover.

The rich wontons make a perfect hors d’oeuvre for your next cocktail party or book club meeting. The ingredients are all natural, with no-hormone cream cheese. Each box comes with about 10 wontons for $6.49.

Mahalo Grille’s executive chef Josh Payton and his team plan to release several more flavors this year, including a line of dessert wontons.

Meanwhile, grab a box of the veggie wontons at Whole Foods in Walnut Creek or San Ramon.
