Dear Editor,
     As a result of the I Love Pleasanton Schools campaign which raised $465,000 in eight weeks over the summer, the Pleasanton Unified School District was able to restore 2.5 elementary teaching positions, 1.5 elementary counseling positions, and .8 high school counseling positions, along with a modified elementary band and strings program (.88 position). The District was also able to allocate funds for outside counseling referrals.
     PUSD is happy to inform you and your readers that Nicole West, the counselor profiled in your September article, was hired back as a high school counselor.
     The fundraising was a joint effort by Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation, Pleasanton Schools Education Enrichment Foundation, and the Pleasanton Unified School District.  The District would like to express thanks to all who supported our students through their participation and donations.
