Want to catch up on your integrative biology? Head back to class by watching UC Berkeley lectures on YouTube. With more than 300 hours of class time already uploaded to the ultra-accessible video-sharing site, there’s plenty to watch, and it’s all free.
The eight Cal courses on YouTube include Physics for Future Presidents, Introduction to Nonviolence, and the most popular single lecture, Atoms and Heat, which was viewed more than 93,000 times in its first two months online.
UC Berkeley is the first university to post entire courses on the internationally popular website, says Ben Hubbard, comanager at Cal’s Educational Technology Services.
Course lectures are also available through webcast.berkeley.edu if you can handle downloading
Real Player software. You can download audio recordings of course lectures to your MP3 player through webcast.berkeley.edu and itunes.berkeley.edu.
UC Berkeley planned to add at least three more courses to YouTube by the end of 2007—just in time for your spring semester.
