+ When voters cast their ballot for best facial, they weren’t thinking of light and frothy pampering. They wanted hard core. Med spa. Everything but the knife. At the hip new SkinSpirit day spa, you can get a froufrou facial. But why would you, when you can shed years of wrinkles with derma sweeps, chemical peels, and photo facials?

+ A diamond is forever, but this wedding ring, designed by Michael Endlich, owner of Pavé Fine Jewelry, is a national award winner for its design and flawless execution. The 2.85-carat moonstone cabochon beat 500 other wedding rings in the American Gem Trade Association competition, a notable achievement given that the category is so dominated by diamonds. We also like that Pavé uses only recycled metals.

+ You won’t find the blue hairs getting their 'do set at Citro Salon in Danville. This new salon, tucked behind J. Hettinger Interiors, is hip city. Think spiky L.A. hair, pierced body parts, and tattoos. But don’t let that scare you off. This crew, including colorist Amy Kautz, knows hairstyle. Most are striking out on their own from Tribez, another chic Danville hair salon.
