Topping the list of must-sees is Ecohome Improvement at 2619 San Pablo Ave. in Berkeley. Think of it as a hipper, greener version of Home Depot that sells everything for cabinets, countertops, tiling, and flooring. Cozy up to a paint bar where you can browse color swatches while you sip tea.

Furniture seekers should check out Pleasanton’s Tattered Treasures at its new address, 5737 Valley Ave. The 3,000-square-foot space showcases artful arrangements featuring new and previously owned furniture and architectural pieces.

In  ublin, at 7260 San Ramon Rd., Cribs, Kids & Teens attracts bargain hunters with Pottery Barn–like bedroom furniture to outfit children’s rooms. 

Hot on the heels of the popular pedicure party trend, Elizabeth Beato has launched Uptown Girls, a salon in Livermore offering makeover parties for you and your gal-pal entourage.Concord’s Sunvalley Shopping Center finally has a Coach store (Carly Canvas bags are shown at left), and Sephora continues its East Bay invasion with a store on Emeryville’s Bay Street, opening this summer. While you’re there, stock up on fashions at the new H&M store.

 Location, location, relocation: Rasputin Music is moving from its Contra Costa Boulevard spot to the former Tower Records space on Concord’s Willow Pass Road. And Lafayette’s Handlebar Toys has downsized from its longtime space on Plaza Way to a shop at 3631 Mt. Diablo Blvd.
