Easy Reader rides again. A new DVD collection of The Electric Company, the 1970s children’s television series, has just been released. The four-disc set, entitled The Best of the Electric Company, includes 20 classic episodes from the show’s 15 seasons.
The set is loaded with educational segments, as well as live-action Spider-Man segments and appearances by cast members Morgan Freeman and Berkeley’s own Rita Moreno. Moreno, who played several characters on the PBS series, filmed new introductions for the DVD release. “I showed it to my grandchildren, who are four and seven, the perfect age to watch it,” Moreno says. “They loved it—except they kept asking why Grandma looks so different!”
